5. Essential Qualification

POWERGRID typically does not publish tender invitations in newspapers. Prospective bidders are required to keep a close watch on the websites mentioned above for tender information. However, in certain cases, tenders may be published in newspapers, such as when there is poor response or for Request for Empanelment processes.

3. In case of variance between Bidding Documents published on POWERGRID’s website and those published on the e-procurement portal, which one will prevail?

The tender/bidding documents uploaded on POWERGRID’s website are for reference only. In case of any contradiction between the Bidding Documents on POWERGRID’s website and those on the e-procurement portal, the version available on the e-portal shall prevail.

4. Does POWERGRID carry out e-procurement or conventional paper-based bidding?

POWERGRID mainly uses e-procurement. Details of the e-portal for bidding are provided in the bidding documents, and prospective bidders must register on the e-portal to participate. Registration is free of cost and is a one-time process.

5. In case of e-procurement, is there any mode available for submission of bids other than on the e-procurement portal?

Bids must be submitted on the e-portal only. Submission via any other mode, such as e-mail, is not allowed. However, the hard copy part of bids, such as Bank Guarantees, must be submitted physically as specified in the bidding documents.

6. What if I am unable to upload the bids due to a technical glitch at my end?

If a technical glitch occurs, the deadline for bid submission may be extended on the same day, such as from 11:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs, provided a written request is made to POWERGRID before the original deadline. The extension will be granted only once, and no further extension will be allowed.
